Of the total funding, US$80 million will come from Asian Development Bank (ADB) preferential loans and the remainder will be covered by the Vietnamese Government.
The project, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), will be carried out over five years in five Central Highlands provinces, including Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Kon Tum.
The PM assigned the MARD to cooperate closely with local authorities in the region to complete procedures to launch the project and ensure its timely implementation in accordance with current laws and regulations.
In recent years, the Central Highlands region has received a large investment for infrastructure development to help it take advantage of its potential and resources in order to boost socio-economic development.
The region has created large scale specialised cultivation areas for high yield crops to generate good quality, competitive products such as coffee, rubber, tea, pepper, cotton, medicinal herbs, fruit trees, and paper.
