The Vietnamese Deputy PM expressed his delight on the fruitful, healthy and substantive development in Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership across all sectors.
Remarkably, Japan is the top ODA provider for Viet Nam, with around US$29.3 billion including US$1.8 non-refundable aid, noted Pham.
He thanked the Government and people of Japan for granting ODA to Viet Nam over the last 30 years, which has contributed to promoting socio-economic development in the Southeast Asian nation, Pham reiterated.
He also spoke highly of the role and crucial contribution of JICA in general and Junichi Yamada in particular, in fostering ODA projects in Viet Nam.
The host expected that Japan will continue ODA provision for Viet Nam, particularly new-generation ODA as jointly agreed by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Japanese counterpart Kishida Fumio.
At the meeting, both sides frankly discussed measures to tackle difficulties in order to speed up the implementation of ODA projects lagging behind schedule as well as future orientations for bilateral ODA cooperation.
This is the second face-to-face meeting between the Standing Deputy Prime Minister and JICA Executive Senior Vice President over the last three months./.
