Hua Na hydro power plant inaugurated in Nghe An

An inauguration ceremony was held on September 20 in the central province of Nghe An to mark the official opening of the 180 megawatt Hua Na hydroelectric power plant.

The two-turbine station was built at a cost of VND7 trillion (US$329 million) by Song Da Corporation and LILAMA.
According to PVN, owner of the plant, the Hua Na hydroelectric power plant has an annual output of 717 million kWh.
In addition to power generation, the Hua Na is also designed to regulate the flow of the Chu river to prevent flooding and supply water for agricultural production in the lower reaches.
Construction of the Hua Na began in March 2008 and its two turbines were placed into operation in February and March 2013.
