Song Bung 4 hydropower plant completed with second turbine in operation

The Song Bung 4 hydropower plant has been made fully operational after electricity generated by its second turbine was connected to the national power grid.
Located in Nam Giang district of central Quang Nam province, the hydropower plant has a generating capacity of 156 megawatts with annual output estimated at more than 586 million kWh.
The second turbine was connected to the national power grid via the 500/220 kV Thanh My substation on October 22, three days earlier than initially planned.
Installation of the first turbine of the hydropower plant was completed on September 30 and since then has generated nearly 25 million kWh of electricity.
In 2014, the Song Bung 4’s total output is expected to reach nearly 163 million kWh./.
