RoK supports water supply, response to climate change in VN

Deputy Minister of Finance Truong Chi Trung and Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of Korea (EDCF)Yim Seong Hyeog on March 19 signed two loan agreements.

The two agreements, worth US$25 million, aim to expand the second phase of Thien Tan water supply plant and sponsor the supporting program to respond to climate change.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Trung highly valued the cooperation and assistance of the EDCF to Viet Nam’s economic and infrastructure development, expecting that the cooperative relations between Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea will be enhanced more effectively in the future.
These loans will help improve people’s lives at benefited localities, he said, expressing hopes to receive more cooperation and assistance from the EDCF.
He assured that the Finance Ministry will coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to monitor and use the loans effectively.
The two loan agreements, under the framework of the US$1.2 billion Frame Agreements in the 2012-2015 phase, have raised the total preferential loans of the Republic of Korea’s Government for Viet Nam to more than US$537 million./.
