Of the project’s total investment, US$41 million came from the preferential loan of the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) for Vietnam and US$ 21 million from a domestic counterpart fund.
With a capacity of 100,000 cubic metres per day, the second phase of the Thien Tan water plant is scheduled for completion at the end of 2017 and will provide water to local people in Vinh Hung and Trang Bom districts, as well as at industrial parks in Bien Hoa city.
The first phase of the project, costing US$ 40million, was completed in 2004, with a capacity of 350,000 cubic metres per day.
According to Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee, Dinh Quoc Thai, the Thien Tan water plant is part of Dong Nai province’s water supply plan up to 2020, with a vision to 2030. The plant is expected to contribute to improving the living standards of local people.
