The Vietnamese Government has approved the list of a project on vocational training reform using official development assistance (ODA) from the German Government.

The project will be carried out from 2016 to 2018 by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs with the aim of improving the education and vocational training programmes based on the requirements of a green and sustainable development economy.

The total fund for the project is over EUR9.36 million including a non-refundable ODA of EUR9 million from the German Government and a counterpart capital of over EUR360,000 from the Vietnamese side.

The project will support the compilation of legal documents guiding the Law on Occupational Education and help improve the capacity of vocational training managers and teachers to develop Vietnam’s vocational training systems in accordance with a green and sustainable development economy.

In addition, the project will assist the Lilama 2 Vocational Training College in developing its vocational training programme and assist vocational training establishments in promoting their work and developing information materials to raise public awareness about vocational training.
