The annual ranking, known as Forbes Global 2000, is based on a composite score of revenue, profits, assets and market value.
BIDV, Vietinbank and Vietcombank all saw their rankings improve compared with the previous year, occupying #1691, #1808 and #1803 positions respectively.
As of May 2016, BIDV, fully known as the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, had a market value of US$2.6 billion, revenue of US$2.62 billion and total assets of US$37.83 billion.
Vietinbank’s market cap was US$2.8 billion while that of Vietcombank was US$5.5 billion, the largest of the three lenders.
This year’s Global 2000 list features companies from 63 countries that together account for US$35 trillion in revenue, US$2.4 trillion in profit and US$162 trillion in assets. They have a combined market value of US$44 trillion.
