The US$ 800 million project got ODA from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
It covers Yen Xa-based wastewater treatment plant and collecting system, serving to improve Ha Noi’s environment.
The plant has a design capacity of 270,000 m3 per day, including a system which collects wastewater along the To Lich and Lu rivers and a part of the Nhue river with a total length of 52 kilometers.
The project will serve for seven districts namely Ba Dinh, Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, Dong Da, Hoang Mai, Ha Dong, and Thanh Tri and put into operation in 2019.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung stressed that the project is of great significance in improving the environment and pollution at the To Lich, Lu, Set, and Nhue rivers; transform local landscape, urban ecology, and develop sustainable growth in the Capital./.
