Bank deposits soared to a new record of 13.5 quadrillion in 2023, the central bank reported Monday.
The above figure increases by 14 percent compared to 2022, said the State Bank of Viet Nam.
Although deposit interest rates are low, cash flow has not moved significantly out of the banking system.
The State Bank also said last year's credit growth was estimated to increase by 13.7 percent year on year.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that the banking sector should continue to stay active in managing the monetary policy in 2024 in order to ensure sufficient credit supply for businesses and people./
