The ADFIAP Annual Meetings is an event that typically focuses on operational, strategic, and policy-related matters concerning development financing institutions in the Asia – Pacific region. This year (2025), the 48th series of the ADFIAP Annual Meetings took place in Muscat, Oman with the theme of “Economic Gardening and Development”.

The event brought together approximately 300 participants from 40 countries, including policymakers, experts, and stakeholders in finance and development. Aimed at serving as a platform for knowledge exchange and peer learning on how best to empower communities and achieve sustainable development, the meeting includes a series of programme features sessions on green banking initiatives, sustainable lending practices, environmental risk management, innovative green financing tools, climate resilience strategies, and international cooperation for building adaptive capacities.
This year’s theme, “Economic Gardening and Development Impact,” reflects ADFIAP’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth by nurturing local businesses, empowering communities, and cultivating innovation.
At its core, economic development challenges countries to nurture local entrepreneurs, invest in communities, and strengthen ecosystems that allow businesses and innovations to flourish. These elements are powerful levers for addressing global development challenges while supporting inclusive and resilient local economic growth. Through this year’s sessions, participants listened and discussed critical topics such as community economic empowerment, the role of entrepreneurship ecosystems, goal-aligned financing, financial resilience, and green and sustainable finance, all of which are foundational to inclusive development across the Asia-Pacific region.
