According to the signed contract, a State investment credit VND 2.222 trillion will be extended from VDB to Vinacomin to build a new copper smelting production line having a designed capacity of 20.000 tons/year. This new facility will collect other mineral materials such as gold, silver and sulfuric acid gotten during the refinery.
Located in Ban Qua commune, Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province, The project has total investment after tax of 3.955 trillion VND. Vietcombank also participates in the project financing along with Vinacomin and VDB.
When in operation expectedly by the end of 2018, the project is to provide about 540 jobs for local labors, supplying copper for the economic development, hence reducing imports burden of this material and saving foreign currency for the economy. For 17 years of life, this project will generate about 2.453 trillion VND for State Budget./.
