The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed ODA loan agreements with the Vietnamese Government to provide preferential loans of up to ¥95.167 billion for four infrastructure development projects.
The ODA loans target to support the building of economic infrastructure essential to strengthening Viet Nam’s competitiveness, and promote environmental improvements to overcome the country’s vulnerabilities.
The four projects include the North-South Expressway Construction Project (Da Nang – Quang Ngai Section); the Lach Huyen Port Infrastructure Construction Project, which covers one project for the port and another for roads and bridges; and the Support Program to Respond to Climate Change.
Earlier, Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh and Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Hiroshi Fukada on January 15 inked a diplomatic note on the ODA provision./.
