This is a good opportunity for Development Partners (DPs) and MOIT to exchange their views on the development orientation of energy sector in Vietnam. There were participations of more than 100 representatives from Government agencies, Development partners, Financial institutions, Private sectors and Non-government organizations. Vietnam Development Bank also attended the meeting.
VEPG is established with the aim of effective usage of international assistance for sustainable development of energy in Vietnam. VEPG’s core subjects include: renewable energy; energy efficiency; development and restructuring of energy sector; energy access; energy data and statistics.
Participants of VEPG are Development partners, namely international organizations, intergovernmental organizations, international organizations for official development assistance and diplomatic agencies in Vietnam.
With the continued growth of energy demand, Vietnam and other developing countries have to aim efforts at sustainable development. VDB is also interested in financing projects in energy sector, especially renewable energy such as wind power, solar power… In the coming time, VDB may consider to participate in more projects in energy sector to contribute to Vietnam energy security./.
