VDB attends 24th AEBF Annual Meeting

A VDB delegation led by the Acting General Director Mr. Dao Quang Truong participated in the 24th Asia Exim bank Forum (AEBF) Annual Meeting with the theme “ Industrial Revolution 4.0: role & challenges of Export Credit Agencies” which is hosted by the Export- Import Bank Of Thailand from the 14th to 16th November 2018.
AEBF member’s representatives have shared at the meeting the common interest in The Industry 4.0, admitting that this Revolution creates opportunities but also challenges to export credit agencies (EACs). Changes are required more than ever to adapt to new situation especially those in operation modalities, services. And the new time comes with new cooperation prospective between EACs.
The Acting General Director, Mr. Truong had made an speech on “ The Impacts of Industry 4.0 to countries and ECAs”. Mr Truong had shared the VDB’s point of view on Industry 4.0 and the impacts on banking system as well as EACs in particular. And Mr.Truong also stressed out that to catch up with and take the advantages of this fast and challenging development of the era, the key factors are more human resource development, new technologies applications with more futuristic vision.
During the meetings, the VDB delegation had bilateral meetings with its AEBF counterparts the members who had shown special interest to Vietnam investment such as ADB, JBIC, EFIC, Exim Thai and other investment funds representatives. The meeting was to exchange information, issues of common interest as well as co-operation opportunities in the future.
According to Mr. Truong, Vietnam as an emerging market with rapid growth, is a very potential environment for foreign investors. The VDB is a state-owned financial institution to implement State investment credit policy. Having its solvency supported by Vietnam government and long-term experience in carrying out social and infrastructure projects in Vietnam in partnership with foreign partner, VDB certainly is a strong reliable financial partner in Vietnam./.
