VDB attends the AEBF training program

In the framework of Asian Exim Banks Forum (AEBF) cooperation program, the Export-Import Bank of Thailand hosted successfully 38th training program with the theme “Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for Export Credit Agencies” at Bangkok (Thailand) from 23th to 26th April, 2019. Participants including VDB’s three officials came from different 16 AEBF’s members and observers.

Speakers at the training program are from Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Export-Import Bank of Korea and the Export-Import Bank of Thailand. They have introduced basic concept of PPP, presented and analyzed practical experiences as well as shared case studies about PPP projects in Thailand and Philippine.
Currently, PPP scheme is strongly encouraged by developing countries’ Governments. This kind of cooperation has advantages such as alleviating the State burden, promoting the private sectors economy participation, facilitating the development of big projects, especially those infrastructure and energy… Implementation of PPP scheme also faces challenges especially in the legal issues and project management…For that, as catalyst, Export Credit Agencies shall be proactive to support and enhance the participation from every economic sectors.
The annual training program is an important activity facilitating among AEBF members to meet and share experiences. The training activity is an important subject of AEBF cooperation. It is designed as hub for AEBF members and non-members to share knowledge, experience for better working in the future./.
