From November 16 to 24, 2025, the working delegation of Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) led by Deputy General Director Le Van Nam participated in business activities within the framework of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Algeria and attending the G20 Summit and bilateral activities in South Africa.

As part of the delegation accompanying the Prime Minister, the VDB delegation led by Deputy General Director Le Van Nam took part in business activities at the Vietnam - Africa Business Forum to promote investment and business cooperation between Vietnamese enterprises and partners in African countries.
The VDB delegation attended the Vietnam - Algeria Economic Forum held on November 19, 2025 in the capital city of Algiers, with the aim of promoting effective and sustainable economic cooperation between the two countries. The event was co-organized by Ministry of Finance of Vietnam and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, in coordination with Embassy of Vietnam in Algeria, Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion and Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Forum attracted approximately 350 delegates from government agencies, promotion organizations and business communities of both countries.
Speaking at the forum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the significant potential for cooperation and proposed that the two sides prioritize sectors such as energy, minerals, infrastructure, logistics, high-tech agricultural and processing of agricultural and aquatic products. The Forum was especially meaningful as the two Prime Ministers previously agreed to upgrade the bilateral relations to a "Strategic Partnership". At the economic forum, the Vietnamese leader called on domestic enterprises to actively participate in the development of “New Algeria,” taking advantage of opportunities from this North African country’s economic openness and its need for infrastructure development.

On November 21, 2025, the VDB delegation continued its activities by attending the Vietnam - South Africa Business Forum, held within the framework of the Prime Minister's working trip to South Africa for the G20 Summit. In his remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on the business communities of both countries to increase investment in potential sectors such as energy, infrastructure, logistics, high-tech agriculture, food processing, digital economy and renewable energy. Participating enterprises and organizations expressed their commitment to promoting cooperation in industry, science - technology, digital transformation and education - training, aiming towards sustainable cooperation models.

Two economic forums in Algeria and South Africa have opened up opportunities for VDB in financial cooperation in Africa. Priority sectors such as energy, infrastructure, logistics, minerals, high-tech agriculture and renewable energy align well with VDB's strengths in medium- and long-term lending. The strong participation of businesses from both countries creates conditions for VDB to explore co-financing models and cooperate with regional development banks. Commitments to strengthening inter-governmental mechanisms and expanding trade and investment provide a solid foundation for VDB to build a portfolio of potential international projects. This represents an important step toward enabling VDB to support Vietnamese enterprises more effectively in accessing the African market.
In addition to official programs, the VDB delegation actively participated in sideline activities including exchanges with host-country organizations and institution to seek cooperation opportunities, promote financial and investment relations between Vietnam and partner countries, and participate in the Prime Minister's meeting with Embassy staff and the Vietnamese community in Algeria./.
