From VDB side, Mr. Nguyen Chi Trang, Deputy General Director of VDB together with a number of leaders and staffs of VDB Operational Departments and from the Korean side Mr. Sung-chul Gwak – Director of Project and the KSP team have participated in this dissemination seminar.
In 2014, "Credit Evaluation system of VDB" is a project conducted under the framework of 2014 KSP System Consulting approved by Korean government. Kexim and Kodit has been selected respectively as coordinator and executing agency for consultant activities aiming to improve credit evaluation system to facilitate the credit guarantee activities and systematic risk management.
The project was started in July 2014 and divided into three main periods: the kick off meeting and analysis on current system of VDB credit system from 14th to 18th July 2014, the Interim Seminar and capacity building workshop from 22nd to 26th September 2014 and the Dissemination Seminar.
In the kick-off period, the KSP team studied the current status of VDB relating to the credit guarantee, the evaluating credit system, the IT infrastructure. From the finding, the KSP team recommended 3 models respectively: Statistical model, Altman Z model, CIS upgrading Model ( Customer Information System).
In the Interim Seminar and capacity building workshop for VDB staffs in Korea, KODIT introduced the operational model, the evaluation system for credit rating, the credit risk management and fieldworks in some Korean companies (NICEINFO ( National information credit evaluation) and KED ( Korean Enterprise Data) and provided Kodit credit rating model for small and medium enterprises, on this basis VDB can refer upgrade the VDB CIS.
In this dissemination seminar, Kodit and the KSP team has proposed a design for VDB credit rating system and also gave VDB recommendations to execute successfully this new system such as : identify and assess the probability of default based on data from VDB; focus on human resources training and connect with other organizations to collect customer information directly./.
