On September 20th 2012, at the Headquarter of Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) - Hanoi, General Director of VDB Mr. Nguyen Quang Dung and Deputy General Director of VDB Mdm. Dao Dung Anh and the relevant departments had a working reception with high-ranking Delegation of Korea Eximbank (Kexim) led by Mr. Ki-Sub Nam - Vice Chairman, Member of Board of Directors.
At the meeting, General Director Nguyen Quang Dung appreciated the cooperation between VDB and Kexim in the recent time and introduced some national key projects implemented through VDB such as: Son La Hydropower project, Dung Quat oil-refinery project, wind power project in Mekong Delta Region, Nuclear power plant project I and II in Ninh Thuan province... General Director Dung also highlighted the role of Korea Eximbank in financing two packages EX7 and EX10 of Hanoi - Hai Phong highway project, under the Korean Government ODA scheme. He also kindly suggested Kexim to consult with contractors (especially the Nam Kwang Company) to ensure the the project in timely manner. Furthermore, he kindly suggested Kexim to support VDB of technical assistance programs in the framework of the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) so that VDB can meet the operational standards as set out by its Operation Strategy to 2020, especially in the fields of loan restructuring, asset and liability restructuring, enhancing risk management activities...
On behalf of the Delegation, Mr. Ki-Sub Nam, Vice Chairman of Kexim appreciated the warm-hearted welcome and hospitality of VDB rendered to the Delegation. He stressed that he, himself was very supportive of the development strategic direction of VDB to 2020 and strongly believed that the relationship between Vietnam - Korea in general will be further developed, and so as the cooperation program between the two institutions in particular. Besides, he proposed VDB and Kexim would co-finance specific projects in Vietnam in the future and he had appointed Kexim’s Representative Office in Hanoi to coordinate closely with VDB to explore projects for co-financing. General Director of VDB showed his welcome to this idea and assigned the relevant departments of VDB for co-working.
Last but not least, General Director Nguyen Quang Dung expressed his deep gratitude to the Kexim Delegation for this visit and suggested the two parties meet and discuss more in the future, especially the delegations of both sides at high level should meet at least once a year to exchange views on cooperation strategic issues between two parties.
