VN offers US$50,000 to help Myanmar fight COVID-19

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung has symbolically handed over US$50,000 to Myanmar Ambassador to Viet Nam Kyaw Soe Win to help Myanmar fight COVID-19.

Addressing the hand-over ceremony this morning, Dung affirmed Viet Nam and Myanmar are not only ASEAN members but also long-lasting friends.
Ambassador Kyaw Soe Win expressed thanks to the Government and people of Viet Nam for the valuable gift, which is a great source of encouragement for his country to overcome the current difficult time.
He also spoke highly of Viet Nam's outcomes in preventing and containing the epidemic as well as its active support for other countries.
On April 7, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung symbolically handed over 550,000 made-in-Viet Nam face masks as gifts from the Vietnamese Government and people to France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
In early April, the Vietnamese Government and people presented medical equipment worth over 7 billion VND as gifts to Laos and Cambodia. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung handed over the gifts, which included specialized protective clothing, medical masks, testing systems and COVID-19 test kits, at a ceremony on April 3.
In February, Vietnam sent breathing equipment, cleanroom suits, gloves and face masks worth 500,000 USD in total to China to help the country fight the COVID-19 pandemic./.
