UNICEF is the global leader promoting and protecting children’s rights in 190 countries, including Viet Nam. As a trusted and strategic development partner, UNICEF has been active in Viet Nam since 1975 improving the lives of children and their families.
At the meeting, Ms. Rana Flowers thanked VDB Chairman for taking the time to receive and briefly introduced about the organization and activities of UNICEF in Vietnam. Ms. Rana affirmed the strong partnership with Vietnam in general and with VDB in particular in the coming time, especially to mark the milestones of 50-year operation of UNICEF in Vietnam. She also expressed her thanks for the positive coordination between the two organizations over the past time in developing child-centered project and showed her desire to expand this cooperation to other potential fields.
Chairman Le Van Hoan, for his part, showed his pleasure to welcome the UNICEF Representative in Vietnam and other members. Chairman shared his impression with the experiences and contributions of Ms. Rana Flowers and thanked UNICEF for providing many practical supports to children in Vietnam in recent times. He affirmed that with its mission, VDB always pays attention to the protection, care and education of children - the future owners of the country.
He agreed with Ms. Rana Flowers's opinion to continue developing the cooperative relationship between the two organizations in the future, through signing a Memorandum of Understanding as well as developing other potential projects, and assigned the relevant functional units of VDB to research and propose these cooperation ideas./.
