In 2023, the United States and Vietnam elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development. Guided by the Joint Leaders’ Statement on elevating United States-Vietnam relations to a comprehensive strategic as well as the developmental orientations in the future, after discussing the cooperation contents suitable for the tasks and functions of both organizations, VDB and EXIM decided to sign the MOU marking the cooperation between the two organizations.
Under the witness of representatives from EXIM, the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam and VDB, VDB Chairman Le Van Hoan and EXIM President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis signed the MOU with the goal of increasing financing U.S. exports to Vietnam and deepening trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Sharing at the ceremony, Ms. Reta Jo Lewis said that the signed MOU demonstrates the shared commitment between the two organizations to strengthening the U.S.-Vietnam commercial relationship and dedication to creating opportunities that strengthen the economies of both nations. She expressed her excitement to collaboratively seek financing opportunities to advance mutually beneficial projects and support U.S. exporters looking to do business in Vietnam.
Mr. Le Van Hoan, for his part, believed that the signing of the MOU will strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two organizations, laying the foundation for potential collaboration opportunities in the future. This will contribute to aiding both organizations in successfully accomplishing the tasks entrusted by the governments of the two respective countries./.
