UNICEF is the global leader with a network of 190 offices worldwide, with the primary mission of promoting and protecting children's rights everywhere, including in Vietnam. As a strategic and reliable development partner, UNICEF has a long history of cooperation in Vietnam since 1975, helping to improve the lives of children and families.
At the meeting, Ms. Silvia Danailov thanked CEO VDB for taking the time to meet and expressed her confidence in the close collaboration between the two organizations over the past period, including the project “Net Zero Climate Resiliency for Children (NZCRC)”, which is expected to mobilize funding from the Green Climate Fund. The UNICEF Representative in Vietnam affirmed her desire to see cooperation between UNICEF and VDB expand beyond the NZCRC project into other potential areas such as infrastructure, social protection, and climate change, with the ultimate goal of helping Vietnamese children to thrive more comprehensively. Ms. Silvia Danailov also expressed her hope that both organizations could explore a cooperation framework in the future, and UNICEF Vietnam ready to provide technical support and relevant expertise information based on its extensive experience and global network.
CEO VDB – Gerenal Director, Mr. Dao Quang Truong, expressed his pleasure in welcoming Ms. Silvia Danailov and extended his congratulations to the new UNICEF Vietnam Representative, hoping that Ms. Danailov would act as a bridge to strengthen the cooperation between VDB and UNICEF, contributing further to supporting Vietnamese children. During the meeting, the General Director briefly introduced VDB, its goals, and directions for the upcoming period. He emphasized that one of VDB's main functions is to invest in infrastructure development and social welfare in areas such as clean water, energy, waste treatment, hospitals, and schools—fields that have a significant impact on the environment and the lives of Vietnamese people, especially children. Through this, CEO VDB expressed his desire for a closer collaboration between the two organizations to ensure the success of the NZCRC Project, setting a foundation for implementing future projects between VDB and UNICEF Vietnam.
At the conclusion of the meeting, General Director Dao Quang Truong agreed with Ms. Silvia Danailov's proposal to continue developing the cooperation between the two organizations, exploring the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding, as well as expanding the development of projects in other potential areas. He assigned relevant units at VDB to study and propose cooperation activities./.
