Meeting between VDB and KDB's leaders

November 12, 2019, at the headquarter of Korea Development Bank (KDB), Mr. Dao Quang Truong, General Director of Vietnam Development Bank had a meeting with KDB’s Vice Chairman. After multiple cooperation activities, this first high-ranking meeting will be a new milestone of relations between two banks.
KDB was established in 1959 to enhance the Korea economy reconstruction and later finance the development of Korean industries listed as priorities. With the national economic development, KDB has undergone through different restructure in depth. KDB, a 100% state-owned bank, has missions to finance important projects and programs of the government, actively participating in the Korean debt market and being a big incubator for startup and venture enterprise. It also is mandated as financial safety nest for the national financial system. In order to support KDB to such missions, Korean government has funded totally KDB’s equity and allowed it to mobilize fund through domestic bond market and other sources. In response to the southern policy of Korean government, as government tool, KDB is trying to expand its activities in Vietnam and as recommendations of Vice PM. Vuong Dinh Hue, KDB want to set up a stronger cooperation with VDB to support better Korean companies in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Mr. Dao has insisted that having many common points related to their missions and development history, a closer cooperation relation would be mutual interest for two banks. VDB with its experience to finance important infrastructure projects will be best local partner for KDB. Furthermore, KDB’s experience for restructuring process as DFI would be very appreciated by VDB./.
