The project owned by Ha Bac Nitrogenous Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (Hanichemco), a subsidiary of Vinachem, aims to upgrade the existing plant and to build a new plant. This project will allow the company to use lump charcoal instead of coal dust and apply the most advanced technology to enhance its production capacity, improve its competitiveness but still to remain friendly to the environment.
Located on the area of 33.4 hectares across Tho Xuong district, Bac Giang city and Xuan Huong commune, Lang Giang district, the project increase the production capacity to 1.560 tones of urea fertilizer per day (equivalent to 500.000 tones per year) and 300.000 tones of liquid ammoniac per year for an operation time of 320 days per year.
With total investment of over 568,6 million USD, of which VDB’s financing counts for more than 231,1 million USD (about 4.125 trillion VND), the project is expected to create about 2.000 jobs for local workers.
Appraised technical and economic outputs of the project have met with the standards, especially environmental standard (a very important indicator to approve a chemical project). After years of development, Vietnam’s chemical industry has now supplied over 80% of the country fertilizer, supporting efficiently agriculture and its demand of restructure.
